Myspace Profile 2.0 Tool: CSS Edit 2.0

What is this?

New Myspace Layouts is a new source for Myspace 2.0 layouts, which is only avaliable on Myspace Canada at the moment. The USA release is tenative.

Why do I care?

Myspace’s 2.0 Profile gives us (fancy designers) a heck of a lot more flexibility, which means we can make better and way more awesome, not to mention way more customizable, which means you get to have a more rockin’ day.

How to Fake-Canadian

We aren’t saying it’s a solid idea, but all you really need to do is logout of your myspace, go to http://ca.myspace.com and log in. Then proceed to click “Profile 2.0 Alpha” at the top.

Don't Say we didn't warn you

Activiating Profile 2.0 will break you old profile design, and we’re not entirely sure you can switch back after you joined the party. Profile 2.0 is VERY buggy until el Tom makes it nice and sparkly.

I’ve neve been a huge fan of Macrabbit’s CSS Edit, but it seems to work great when you are working on myspace layouts. Just open said layout in the CSS Edit 2.0 inspector, and start creating new styles.

I’ve noticed some inconsistences, most importantly that CSS Edit automatically jumps for ID’s instead of classes, but it’s an easy fix as far as I’m concerend.

How can I customize the blue background behind my general section and blurbs heading ? I clicked every possible thing I could to customize the profile, but I can’t seem to make it change . . ?
